Alabama Striders 2008 Sponsor Letter

been a member of the nationally recognized Alabama Striders program for ______

year(s). I attend ____________________ school in the _________________________

community of ____________________ AL. My church is ___________________________ 

of which ____________________ is our pastor. The Striders are in their 27th 

year of existence. We were founded and are still coached by Coach M. Dewitt 

Thomas. He has started and mentored athletes such as Vonetta Flowers (2002 

olympic gold medalist), Bobby Humphrey (former Alabama great), Althea Thomas, 

member of 4 NCAA championship teams at LSU, and many others who have competed 

at the next level and above. This summer we will compete in AAU Junior Olympic

meets in Johnson City TN on June 27-28 and Knoxville TN on July 12-13 and the

AAU Junior Olympic Nationals in Detroit MI on July 27-August 2. As I am sure 

you know, the price of travel, motels, entry fees and meals can be costly. 

Any contribution towards covering these expenses will be appreciated.
